3.2 Keyboard Control

The entire program can be controlled by keyboard. Because there are lots of functions, Bunao uses THREE different special keys:

Alt - for overal program control, like open, save, etc most of the operations on the file menu have Alt shortcuts

Control - for all Bunao operations, like adding and remove children, uncle, nephew, tree view, etc.

Meta - for module configuration. Any time you see a letter with an an underline in the middle window, pressing Meta-<letter> will activate that control.

To move between windows, use function keys:

F1: left window (tree) F2: middle window (configuration) F3: right window (modules) F10: menu bar

You can tell which one is selected by the thin black line around the pane edge.

The up and down arrrow keys will usually do what you think they should - in the Tree, the move the current node, in the modlist, they move and down the modules, etc. Also the, home and end keys will move to the beginning and end of lists.

Other keyboard shortcuts tree pane:

Ctrl-n: down (next) node Ctrl-p: up (prev) node Ctrl-o: open this node (like clicking the plus sign)

Module selection:

The most powerful keyboad feature of Bunao lets you select modules without using the mouse. Press Ctrl-space. A small window pops up. Enter the letter code for the module. The letter code is written in brackets after module name. For example: "Random Sets [rs]". Then push return, and the module is selected.

If the "Blind Module Select" option is on, then pressing ctrl space does not even put up the window, it just waits for the next keypresses. It also doesn't require return.
